Ocotillo Ball

This will be my last post.  I am in tears, but I have come to the conclusion that I cannot live here anymore, let me give you some back-story.  When I got back from my win at the contest there was no crowd; just a sign and some teachers! Can you believe that! I surely couldn’t I fell to tears at the realization that NOBODY noticed Susan. So I was Stargirl again. From that I lost Leo, he stopped talking to me so I assumed that we had broken up. That wouldn’t stop me from making an entrance at the Ball.
I rode in on a bicycle carriage with a flowing long dress. As I stepped on the dance floor all eyes were on me! For a moment I might have believed that they were starting to like the real me, Stargirl again! After only a little bit, I had stolen the show from Hillari Kimble! Not intending to, well maybe. In anger she stormed up to me. I was just going to tell her how pretty she looked when a spread of pain ran across my face. She had slapped me, following the attack she said. “You ruin EVERYTHING!”
I am gone. No one wants me there anyway. Who should I be next? Only I will know.  You know you love me.
Goodbye for good,
The Star Girl

Oratorical Contest (State Finals)

Today is the last day. I’ve been practicing everyday for the past few weeks. I’m soooo ready for this. Leo said that I was way over my head for this but seriously, I’m ready. I KNOW it’s going to be alright because I had a vision today. This was the best vision I ever had before too! Let me describe it to you:
Everyone was cheering /chanting: “Susan! Susan! Susan!!” and the school band was playing a special song just for me, while a big crowd of people swarmed my way and just before I knew it, I was up in the air. I was in so much glee! I triumphantly held my shiny, glorious, silver platter! It would be much better if it was gold though. (Ha-ha, I feel so greedy now!J) So when I was finally up for doing the contest I felt like I wanted to do something different. Then it hit me. Thanks to Archie I had thought about talking about things that were very popular but now are endangered or exist. So when I said “Do you hear it?” the room was in so much silence but then the crowd applauded before I knew it I won first place. But when we came back to school, the vision had been wrong, there were only 3 people. My only real friend, Dori, has been holding a ‘CONGRATULATIONS’ sign and was crying that I had changed so much. What hurt me was that I had only lost something other than popularity it was…a friend.

Someone You’re Not

Have you ever felt like you had to change yourself for someone? Well I did, Leo told me that No one liked me and I was just too weird.  So I quit, Being Stargirl that is! I could hardly believe myself wearing normal clothes such as skinny jeans and V-neck shirts with hoop earrings! Followers, I did the unbelievable. I-I-I changed my name to Susan! Even though I HATE the change, Leo embrace’s it! Oh my goodness, he kisses me swings me in his arms!  The school doesn’t notice Susan; then again some will talk to me. It’s better than being shunned I guess.
Well being normal is tough on me, but you followers, what do you think followers!? Am I TOO normal now. Well maybe being normal will help me win the Oratorical Contest! Well I have to practice for it to win! So thanks and let me know what you think of my change!

Trying Something New…

Since me and Leo and me have been going out and stuff, everyone is ignoring us. I have no problem with it but, Leo wants someone to talk to him. Maybe it’s because I’m weird...Maybe I should try to become normal like Leo said. It’s going to be so hard because that would mean:
1.) No more bringing Cinnamon to school anymore.
Poor Cinnamon would be sooo lonely at home because he only get to play in his little wheel. He would be so bored. He needs to find a play mate…OTHER THAN ME!

2.) Actually caring what I wear (no more pioneer dresses, my flapper costume, or even my long, flowing dresses! (In Leo’s case they are weird).

And lastly…

3.) The way I talk or act.
Apparently, the way I act is weird. Gosh I bet these people think I’m on some crazy meds or I’m high. My behavior is normal to me by any means to ME, I mean my parents don’t mind nor does Archie. Why do people have to talk behind our backs? Don’t they know they will only destroying themselves? L
Anyways, I don’t care. I love Leo with all my heart but, if I got to change for Leo, by any means necessary. I’ll do it.

The Hot Seat!

It was terrible! Oh I should give you the details. At first when I arrived at the TV set I was dancing with joy.  Then Cinnamon played with Kevin, crawling up his sleeves and such. Then the questions came, I felt nervous, they would ask me random questions about my personality, I felt like I was losing my popularity! They decided it was bad to cheer for other teams! I was frozen as if the Hot Seat was electrified. I was taking the Hot Seat seriously to cool down the jury. I jumped up and pretended I was on fire, like putting on a show. Too bad it did not run.

Basketball Games

I was a cheerleader for EVERYONE at the basket ball game today, and that’s what makes me different! I never will stop cheering, not even after the ball leaves the court! I cheered when people did not even know what I was cheering for!  Some think it’s usual when I pop up when the ball is thrown in, well for the other team.  I think when I cheer for everyone it is a positive thing! Some others at the school question me for my spirit! I was even left behind at the Red Rock game, but I’m guessing it was a complete accident. Oh well, at least YOU, followers love me!!!

Oratorical Contest (school round)

Rumored facts said that only four or five students joined the oratorical contest every year and almost no one makes it past the district competition. This year I joined with twelve of my other fellow students making thirteen of as in all. I simply just did a report on Elf Owls, called “Elf Owl’s Call Me by My First Name.” Then what do you know I’m in the district competition.
In district, at Red Rock I won again with ease. Now I’m moving on to the State Final’s! There something inside of me just telling me that I’m going to win!

Stargirl’s Popularity

I’m so glad I am finally making friends. One day people are staying away from me because I the weird, crazy, new girl. The next day I have one or two people sitting with me at lunch. When finally I’m surrounded by people talking a mile a minute, with barely enough time to eat my lunch! People are talking to me in the hallways, passing notes to me in the classrooms and it’s like there is no silence. I love it here at Mica High; and I love being popular and making new friends.

Football/Game

Can you say "Down said Hut, Hut" well guess what "I can", Mica High last game of the season was my first as a cheerleader I remember the grandstand packed: students, parents, alumni. I did routines and cheers. In fact i never stopped cheering while the other girls took breaks I went on jumping and yelling I felt so good that I found myself running across the fifty-yard line and joined the other teams cheerleaders I cheered in front of the players bench and some coach came and shooed me away. The next day at school no one mentioned how boring the game itself was  or no one cared that the Electrons had lost again sports editor of the Mica Times referred to me as" The best athlete on the field".

Happy Birthday Songs

Today I sang Happy Birthday to a senior named Alan Ferko and the way I knew it was his birthday is a secret. Many people stared, but to me with Cinnamon on my shoulder, I felt amazing singing and strumming my ukulele to the tune of Happy Birthday. I felt the stares of eyes look away. As Cinnamon nibbled at my ear in passion and people giggled at the Happy Birthday tune.

Mica, Mica Mica....

Well, it's Stargirl Caraway. Yes, THE Stargirl Caraway, and on my road to extraordinary, I have made a stop! My parents have decided to let me fraternize with other earthly beings! Let me just start out to say, I have been homeschooled for all my life until now! I started my day at Mica High with a bang. Murmurs of my name and “Did you see her?" filled the hallways. They acted as if they had seen a ghost when I pulled out my ukulele and began to strum it to happy birthday! Can't someone wish another happy birthday! I don't know about you followers, but the Mica Electrons need to be zapped into a new school!
Much Love!
Stargirl!

p.s.- Every post I will try to share with you a clip! This song marches to it's own drum! JUST LIKE ME!
